ARE CLASSIC BIKES TO BE BANNED IN EUROPE?

The video refers to the “Fit for 55” program. An aggressive attempt to mandate older vehicles off the road in favor of electric.

“Cars experiencing failures in major components such as engines, transmissions, brakes, or steering, and deemed old (potentially around 15 years), will fall under this category. Once labelled as residual, these vehicles would be barred from undergoing significant repairs and would likely be scrapped.”

Those are the actions of tyrannical government, thank God we still have the 2nd here if they try to stop me from enjoying my God given rights then they can discuss it with him directly I'll just arrange the meeting.

Um... you guys do realized this is just a "proposal".... right? It's not a law, it's not set in stone. By the EU's own admission, about half the member countries can't currently comply with this proposal. I suspect the end result will be well watered down form this current... proposal. Put away your pitchforks and holster that sidearm....

Breathe, gentlemen....

Aye. ^
That it would be proposed is concern enough.
The price of Freedom is constant vigilance
The wiles of some totalitarians is incrementalism.
Nip that in the bud, toot sweet.

The price of Freedom is constant vigilance
The cost of freedom is puttin' on a uniform an' doing your (vigilant) duty to your country. Most everything else is false bravado and political bullshit.

Ah... the "slippery slope." Makes for great arguments and campaign slogans... the reality is a fair bit different... and means different things to different folk.
What some folk call incrementalism, others call... progress. The second amendment (for instance) has stood the test of time, largely intact. Been hearing about that slippery slope for most of my adult life. Yet... my personal arsenal is still intact. No one's tried to take 'em or even "asked" that I give 'em up.

Cheers.

You tell em Rambo

You tell em Rambo
I particularly would not "put on a uniform" for this government in particular, they are one of the worst, my patriotism stems for my respect for my fellow countrymen and women, not for the government or any political party. I love America as an idea and a people not the United States as a corporation or controlling body. And I can assure you when the time comes to have my "bravado" tested , as it has many times I know I stand on the most solid ground. There is nothing more powerful than a true believer, especially when you know what you believe in just.

You tell em Rambo

How else would it start other than a proposal?
I don't know how closely you follow the actions of most governing bodies, almost everything starts as a proposal, a testing of the water if you will, and if these ideas receive little or no push back the are no longer just proposals, the United Nations definitely has no interest in uniting anything for any reason other than to control it, once organization like this gain power and or control they never willingly relinquish it, they take it and if you don't agree you must take it back. This is true all throughout history, but what do I know I've only been study this exact subject daily for 30 plus years

It's all a Mickey Mouse Fantasy World until the lights go out. Stoopid Socialist Engineers and their hive mind minions poking a sleeping Rattlesnake.
My friend I couldn't agree more, but we must never forget these people are playing chess not checkers, as stupid as they may seem they are extremely calculated, gaining ground and slowly incrementally implementing their plan, "they" play a long game, it's often generational, more a marathon than a sprint. Their aim is not to poke the rattlesnake while it's sleeping but rather to remove it's head while it is.

Electric vehicles are out as I hear it now ..Hybrids have a chance but not even that is certain .
This is the product of a blue haired lady never been out on the street after 6 pm.

And scoring a lot of money in EU doing mad things
I don't see this go through
Because this is a hobby and when that lady are telling the Porsche / Ferrari Dino owners
You need to scrap this shit polluting car
That is when the shit hits the fan so to speak
Influential people are told scrap cars a 85 000 euro or more
Used maybe 5 times a summer ---Forget to repair it
That is not rocket science to understand what happens next
A lot of emotional value and economic value.
At the end of a term they need voters
And the blue haired lady will be called ugly things -

Who is gonna give me the 85 000 Euro when the Ferrari Dino turns into a scrap metal block

Jim did you get those pants from Rapper MC Hammer?

Our lovely Uncle Sam... our government, don't care much for style or whether you "be stylin" .... it's all about function.

"Here ya go mate."
Me: "They don't fit."
Uncle Sam... looks past me... "Sorry 'bout your bad luck mate. Next!" 😜

It's all about power and control, not the environment. A 99% reduction in polutants is fantastic. Only someone who wants to control the way we live would insist on 100%

Compared to 1970 vehicle models, new cars, SUVs and pickup trucks are roughly 99 percent cleaner for common pollutants (hydrocarbons, carbon monoxide, nitrogen oxides and particle emissions). New heavy-duty trucks and buses are roughly 99 percent cleaner than 1970 models.Jan 3, 2024

Yuri Bezmenov on communist incrementalism ....,( Phil Donahue Show anybody???) watching it play out for decades, yes Virginia, decades......and the Cloward and Piven strategy accelerating daily.
Think I'll go have a ham sammich now, mebbe grab some popcorn too, watch 'em keep poking.....I will note this razors edge is kinda thin but when EVERYTHING is politicized what can we discuss? How wonderful it 'was' to have a 650?
Slippery slope is when things fall off, incrementalism is when things are piled on. Don't get them confused.
